I'm Gnomonkey, I make OldSchool Runescape guides, and will make other OSRS content in the future. My guides help people efficiently level up, and leverage their cash stack at the same time. I do boss guides, slayer guides, skill training guides, you name it I make it.
500 TOA Shadow Rebuild Guide (OSRS)
I've commonly been asked between the last 2 hybrid video guides, what do I do if I had a Shadow? Here is what I would do if I was an ironman, or someone who got a spooned shadow and kept it, or if you are one of those people who enjoys rebuilds. I do not recommend using Shadow without Ancestral, you lose SO many max hits and dps, that other builds become more viable. Tbow is still bis at Zebak, but Shadow only beats Zebak if you have salts and max mage. If you don't have max mage with your Shadow, you might as well go back to bringing full BOFA.
This set up is a little overboard, most people shouldn't need 13-14 Sanfew. Bring VW and upgrades to fill it things. Bringing melee setup to kill Baba/Kephri faster is quality of life but with Red X, you are still safe.

An updated budget teaching stream, I did this few weeks ago so ignore the mage thrall bug. This is what I'd run for meta 500 ToA budget runs if you want to get kits but have no GP. Here is a short and sweet guide/example kills of a Max Budget Nex kill, with a slow painful kill and a smooth sailing kill. After defense changes, Nex is now giga weak to ZCB, and VW in the bin. Finally Araxxor is here, but it's not exactly what we were hoping for. A toned down slayer boss is not the boss I wanted for from the iconic multi phase RS3 boss. His most important drop is an upgraded amulet of torture (the amulet of rancor) and I think this is a real opportunity to knock blood fury out of meta. Scythe and Bandos. But you can use Gearscape.net and calc it yourself :)
How come your invent tags disappear/reappear randomly?
It's Dynamic Inventory Tags. It only shows up if I miss a switch. So if I have a melee weapon on, it'll show me if I miss a melee switch, etc

So say I am an iron man not running 500s, and I don't have a fang I am grinding normals for one...is the melee setup still blue Moons gear? With best stab option? (I do have bowfa and crystal armor)

in say a 350 raid, is mixed hide still better dps than bandos with fang?
Mixed hide is for bringing Tbow with and hybriding for supplies with Fang. It's not for better dps per say. They are pretty much the same DPS wise.

wouldn't blowpipe with basic masori be better for a rebuild? As it's less than half the cost of crystal
The full set of Masori is 200-250m. BofA is 140m. Blowpipe + Masori is bad on Zebak and Warden P2 and gets worse the more you raise the raid level.

Hey mr gnomonkey, sorry for late comment just have a question. Would ZCB masori be a better option than bowfa nowadays? Both for TOA, and generally. See a lot of contention online about it and have found people vouching for both bowfa and zcb. Thanks!
It depends on the raid you’re doing. If you are doing masses, camping ZCB will be better due to the high hit points and the chance of you getting multiple ruby procs. If you’re running small teams, bowfa is much more accurate and overall a better weapon. Hope that helps. I dealt with that same issue before I got shadow.
ZCB is 2% better with Masori than BOFA. It's good for high invos where the defense + hp is very high.

If I have this whole setup plus a voidwaker should I work it in? In general I’m struggling to find info on when to Bgs when to voidwaker and when to use Adren in toa
Baba you BGS until 20, Kephri you typically just VW, Akkha shadows you VW, Zebak BGS until 20 then VW spec, Warden you BGS Obby until 20, then VW (you should be adrened), then P3 is 30 BGS, P4 is 60 BGS.

Highly suggest going into a 0 invo and practice. You can use a bronze axe which is 5T not to kill her as quickly and practice. That's what I did

i know this guid is bad when it says to use twisted bow with crystal body and legs........ masori f chest and masori f legs and slayer helm because i am on task

random question, what happens if you try to run Nex back and forth from the corridors/bridges and you're positioned along the wall? Couldn't you keep her at distance while ranging her. Kinda seen at 12:30 in the video

swap fortified masori (or mixed hide) and tbow for bowfa and crystal fine or worse, I need to dps calc that

I actually did a Toa and Shadow rebuild from scratch. After losing 4b I used bofa and budget gear for hundreds of 410 ffa raids until I finally pulled a shadow. After that I ran 500+ invos with some friends. I went from 500m bank value to what is now 10b bank value in just a few months. Good luck to all!
Worth bringing in bandos for the rebuild or just camp the mage gear with crystal?
Check to make sure it gives max hit, otherwise it's just about supplies. If you have plenty and it gives extra dmg, go for it.
If you got it, bring it. This is an exaggerated example for unlimited supplies.
@@GnomonkeyRS Awesome man thanks for the reply, ever since fang kit i've scaled back down to 445s with dehydration and no help needed. Creeping back up to 500s to farm has been a weird mental block for me.

I've done 500s in similar gear and naked, that's why I don't bother doing them in lower invos.
i just got my 1st ever cape, whenever i had nibs on my (not north) pillars i asked myself: "what do i do with those, how do i kill those?". whenever i did that your voice in my head just said "i dont care, unlucky". that helped a lot ngl

isn't kodai wand + ahrims top better then ancestral+staff of dead given that the first costs like 50m less almost while having +58 magic attack and the ancestral and toxic staff is +60, but the ahrims top has better defense?
